Scans Etcetera (SEI) supply high resolution scans of your provided originals (artwork, color transparencies, line drawings, etc.). Air brushing, color correcting, silhouetting, adding drop shadows, creating duotones are frequent image enhancements we offer.

High Resolution Scanning
We utilize three Crosfield 646 highend output scanners with 6150 upgrade. These are professional quality A3+ drum scanners with an optical resolution of 5000 dpi. With a scanning area of 19-1/2" x 27-1/2" we have the capability of scanning flat photos, artwork, or 3D objects such as photographs, books, or even framed artwork. Using a scanner resolution from 53 to 8000 dpi ensures all originals are scanned at the highest quality possible.

SEI also uses the UMAX PowerLook II, a high resolution color flatbed scanner. We can generate, sharp clear images at a hardware resolution of 600 x 1200 dpi and a maximum software enhanced resolution of 9600 dpi. With the PowerLook II, your images will always look great. Adobe Photoshop is utilized for processing. Maximum scannable area is 8.3" x 11.7".

Proofing Systems: We have several ways of producing proofs for our customers. Using the Dupont Waterproofing Sytem, we are capable of outputting matchprints, typeproofs and laminate proofs. This system allows a custom proof on the actual paper that your job will be printed on, up to 24 pt. A Chromachek Overlay Proof is designed to confirm that the colors in the job have been correctly separated but are not intended to be an accurate representation of the actual colors to be printed. We can also supply a 300 dpi Kodak Digital proof or a black and white PMT paper proof.

Large Format Prints and Finishing
SEI can provide you with a wide variety of large format color display prints and finishing services. With a print range of up to 53" x 9', the HP Designjet poster printer delivers a combination of production speed and ultimate photo quality unmatched by any other printer in its class. Continuous tones, smooth transitions and a wide color gamut, is achieved using HP color layering, six ink colors (CMYKcm) and 1200-dpi resolution. Think of the possibilities – posters, backlit signs, exhibits, ourdoor advertising, signage, displays, backdrops, murals – whatever your needs or wherever your imagination takes you.

We also provide a full range of mounting and laminating services. The Seal Professional Laminator allows you to preserve special memories and important information by sealing photographs, documents, and with a maximum width of 52" even poster-sized prints in seconds. Laminating sharpens and brightens colors, enhances the finish and protects your photos and documents from water, dirt, oils, tearing and wrinkling. Mounting on Fome-Cor,® Gatorfoam,® Sintra® and Plexiglas® are available in varying thicknesses. Lamination materials are also available in gloss, luster and matte in a variety of thicknesses

Scans Etc. specializes in high quality film output. We are capable of producing film sizes up to 19" x 24" at up to 300 line screen. At SEI we use the latest, state-of-the-art Scitex Dolev imagesetters to produce moire-free, four-color process and black and white film. Our top of the line equipment enables us to guarantee the best quality digital printing, scanning, and image reproduction whether it's film or digital photography. We are also able to accommodate your printer’s imposition needs through both electronic and conventional stripping. Each set of film passes through our quality control process and matched to your supplied color or black and white laser prints. Film proofing can be performed on your final stock using environmentally safe FujiProof contract proofs. If you require a digital color proof, pages can be supplied from our Iris inkjet printer for single pages.

Digital Asset Management
Scans Etc. offers SE Digital Asset Management. This service allows you to store your hi-res and low-res images off site. SEI makes your low-res images available to you over the Internet for download and quick retrieval anywhere. Short Run Printing
The short to medium print run or “print on demand” is now more economical than ever. Our Canon CLC 1150 is capable of running sheet sizes from 8-1/2" x 11", 11" x 17" or 12" x 18" paper. The CLC 1150 is rated at 11 ppm full 4-color, with 42 ppm black and white capability. By printing on heavier paper stocks, and by printing 11" x 17" full-bleed images on 12" x 18" paper, the CLC 1150 is a crucial component in handling the ever-increasing demands placed on our "color intensive" environment.
